Quest Trust Company Accounts Transitioned to Inspira Financial
Quest Trust Company (QTC) transitioned accounts to Inspira Financial Trust, LLC (Inspira) on Sept. 3, 2024. With this transition, accountholders will receive the best of both worlds — the stability of being a part of a larger company with more resources, combined with the high-quality education and customer service they have come to expect from QTC.
The Benefits of Becoming an Inspira Accountholder
- Inspira is a leading provider of health, wealth, retirement, and benefits with more than 8 million accountholders and $62 billion in assets under custody.
- Self-directed IRAs (SDIRAs) and alternative assets are a core part of Inspira’s business, guaranteeing clients a high level of expertise. Learn more about Inspira self-directed IRAs.
- Inspira offers a broad range of services beyond SDIRAs, such as access to 1031 exchanges.
- Continuing education on SDIRAs and investing topics is an important component of Inspira’s self-directed IRA business.
QTC was founded 20 years ago by H. Quincy Long with the goal of educating the public and making SDIRAs available to all investors. During his tenure, Quincy has become a leading authority on SDIRAs, while QTC has serviced over 20,000 accountholders. With Quincy’s retirement, the importance of offering self-directed education will remain, as Inspira strives to empower more investors to take control of their financial future.
For clients concerned about the impact on their accounts and investments, rest assured that very little is changing at this time. With this transition, fees will remain the same and QTC staff will continue servicing accounts throughout a transition period of several months.
We want to thank you for the opportunity to serve your self-directed account needs. We look forward to discussing the new opportunities this transition will bring and are committed to ensuring a seamless experience. Inspira is excited to welcome you aboard.
Your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When did my account transfer to Inspira?
Inspira became the successor custodian of your account on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, as noted within the resignation letter mailed to each accountholder using the address on file.
Will the terms and conditions of my account change?
Yes. As part of the transition of your account to Inspira, your custodial agreement with QTC will terminate, and a new custodial agreement with Inspira will govern your account. This new custodial agreement, and important disclosures if applicable, was included in the notice you received regarding the transition and is also available below.
Are there any additional or changed fees associated with this transfer?
There are no additional fees associated with the transfer of your account to Inspira, and your current fee structure will not change at this time.
How will this transfer affect my investments and funds?
There will be no impact on your investments and funds due to this transfer. All existing investments will be maintained as they are currently, with no further action needed on your part.
Assets will not be retitled, but all assets purchased or transferred after the Sept. 3, 2024, transition date will need to be titled in the name of Inspira Financial Trust, LLC as custodian. Download retitling instructions.
What changes can I expect with this transfer?
During a transition period, QTC will continue providing certain administrative services related to your Inspira account, and you will access your account in the same manner and with the same credentials as you do today until further notice. It’s also important to note that while the QTC website and portal and some forms may still refer to QTC and/or Texas law, rest assured that Inspira remains the custodian, and your custodial agreement will be governed by Illinois law.
What does it mean that my custodial agreement is governed by Illinois law instead of Texas law and how does this affect my account?
Most aspects of IRAs are governed by federal law. However, since Inspira Financial Trust, LLC is an Illinois trust company, your custodial agreement will be governed by Illinois law effective as of the transition date. Your custodial agreement outlines Inspira’s, as custodian of your IRA, responsibilities to you as an accountholder as well your responsibilities to Inspira.
Will my online experience and login credentials change?
During this transition time, you will continue to access your account as you always have with no change to your login experience, username, or password.
Will banking delivery instructions need to be updated?
Yes, as part of your account moving to Inspira, there are new banking delivery instructions for checks, ACHs, and wires. This change is effective immediately and will provide a more streamlined and efficient experience for your deposits. It is important that you update your records accordingly and communicate these changes to any third parties, such as tenants and borrowers, that make payments to your account. Please inform them of the updated instructions as soon as you can to ensure a smooth transition. Download updated Delivery Instructions.
Will my current designated beneficiary remain as noted on my account(s)?
Yes, your current designated beneficiary as authorized on your account with QTC will continue to be honored by Inspira. Please closely review all beneficiary information and make updates, as necessary. To review your current beneficiary, log in to your QTC account online, and click on “Accounts” on the left-hand side. For each account, you can click "View Details” to see beneficiary information on the right-hand side under “Related Party.” To add or update the beneficiary information on any of your accounts, please complete and submit a “Change of Account Information” form here.
