In honor of Military Appreciation Month, we are highlighting veterans turned successful investors and raising money for Wounded Warrior Project at our quarterly SDIRA Socials. Join us to hear the stories of veterans who found financial freedom through alternative investing. Learn how they got started and the steps they took to take control of their retirement, because whether you're a veteran or not, these stories and tips will be valuable for anyone looking to make the transition from their current lifestyle to full time investor! We’ll also discuss ways you can use your Thrift Savings Plan as a source of funding for your investments to maximize its potential.

Meet the Speakers:

Christian Catron began his real estate investing career with single-family homes in 2017. His vision for Redeem Investments has expanded to include commercial real estate investments and renewable energy investing, recognizing the ability to achieve below-average risk and above-average returns for investors, while creating a positive impact on the environment. His company runs an investment fund that provides financing to renewable energy developers and returns a 12% yield per annum to investors, paid via monthly cash distributions. His corporate career includes roles in sales, training, management, business development, project management, and operations, leading as many as 500 teammates at a time.


Tim Herriage is the founder and president of Ternus, which specializes in providing cutting-edge real estate financing solutions.

With a career spanning over two decades, Tim’s journey in the real estate sector is marked by a series of notable achievements and leadership roles. Tim has successfully completed transactions worth over $3 billion, including the acquisition of more than 2,000 houses, 1,500 apartment units, and 100,000 SF of commercial space, plus providing numerous loans to fellow investors. Before embarking on his real estate venture, Tim served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Intelligence Analyst. Tim is also the host of the “Real Investing” podcast, where he shares his wealth of knowledge and insights into real estate investing, continuing his commitment to educating and empowering fellow investors.


Joe Boston is the founder and president of the Dallas Real Estate Investment Group (Dallas-REIG), a leading real estate investment association in the DFW Metroplex. Since 2010, he has grown Dallas-REIG significantly, achieving at least a 25% growth every year and tripling its member base from 2013 to 2014. Before his real estate career, Joe served in the Air Force as an officer, then transitioned to roles in finance and sales. He holds several professional designations including a Texas State Real Estate Broker License, MBA in Finance, MSHRM in Human Resources, Six Sigma Black Belt, Professional Human Resources Designation (PHR), and Project Management Professional (PMP).


Brandon Wong is the founder of Smart Syndicator, a software company that specializes in marketing automation dedicated to helping syndicators stress less, grow their investor databases, automate/streamline their sales pipelines, and raise more money. He is also the co-founder of GDI Capital partners, a diversified investment fund that invests in ATMs, car washes, multifamily and several other types of commercial real estate. He and his team purchase in high growth markets to both maximize ROI and minimize risk while uplifting communities and has currently $40M under management in the multifamily space. He served in the Marine Corps Infantry from 2003-2011. He currently resides in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, and his passions outside of family and real estate are helping veterans start and grow their businesses.
